

Frank Alan Montgomery, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on April 20, 1945, in Long Beach, California, Frank entered the world alongside his twin sister, Peggy. As the son of a Navy fighter pilot, Frank's early life was a journey across the United States, with stops in Long Beach, California; Kodiak, Alaska; Louisiana; Pensacola, Florida; Detroit, Michigan; and ultimately Oklahoma City, where he found his roots.
Frank attended Classen High School before continuing his education at Central State College and the University of Oklahoma. His academic journey equipped him for a successful career in the credit industry. He began his professional life at The First National Bank and Trust Company of Oklahoma City before serving as the Credit Manager at John A. Brown. Frank's dedication and entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish his own company, where he continued to excel in the credit industry.
Frank was known for his gregarious nature and his ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere. He had a unique gift for building relationships quickly, turning strangers into friends with his warm and engaging personality. Whether he was chatting with a neighbor or someone he met in passing, Frank’s genuine interest in people shone through.
An avid reader, Frank had an insatiable appetite for non-fiction, particularly history and biographical books. He delighted in sharing the knowledge he gleaned from his reading, often recounting fascinating stories and insights he had gathered from the pages of his favorite books. His love of learning and storytelling made him a captivating conversationalist, one who could engage others with his vast knowledge and passion for the past.
Frank’s life was defined not only by his professional achievements but also by the love he had for his family and the outdoors. He was an active and involved father, coaching his sons’ soccer and basketball teams, and creating lasting memories on fishing and camping trips to Colorado and various lakes across Oklahoma.
Frank was a man of many interests; he found joy in photography and maintained his health by cycling regularly. One of Frank's greatest passions was racing his Porsche. As a member of the Porsche Club of America, he embraced the thrill of racing, participating in rally and circuit races throughout Oklahoma and Texas.
Frank is survived by his daughter, Wendy Montgomery-Roberts, her husband David, and their two daughters, Lexie and Ella, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his son, Mike Montgomery, of Eastsound, Washington; and his son, Aarron Montgomery, and his wife, Emily, along with their seven children, of Magnolia, Texas.
Frank will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, adventure, and dedication to his family, friends, and passions will forever be cherished.
