

Franklin Omar Bundy was born on November 4, 1929, in Wichita, Kansas, to Dorothy and Samuel Bundy, and passed away in the early morning hours on February 25, 2014, from complications of Alzheimer's. When he was a baby, his family moved to Oklahoma City where he attended Gate wood Elementary, Roosevelt Jr. High, and Classen High School. He placed 5th place in the state wrestling championship in his weight and was on the swim team. Frank met Coleen Marie Freeman during their senior year at Classen after her family had just moved to Oklahoma City. They were married on December 19, 1948. She was the love of his life and he was the love of her life. Within a couple of years they started their family - Debby, Dennis, Diane, Darlene, Darrell, and Danny. Frank served in the National Guard during this time. Frank worked as a draftsman and an estimator in the steel business. He began at W & W Steel and then went to CECO Steel where he worked for 30 years until his retirement in 1985. After he retired, he continued to do contract work for CECO and other companies. For many years Frank and Coleen were active in the First Church of Christ, Scientist, of Nichols Hills. They also loved to ballroom dance at the Moose Lodge. Frank was in the DeMolay in high school. ln 1973 he joined the Masons at Siloam Lodge. He loved his work with the lodge and the men that became his friends there. He received his 32nd and 33rd Degree in the Scottish Rite in 1974. He was Worshipful Master of the Siloam Lodge in 1983. Frank was also in the Provost Guard, the Clown Unit, the Bowling League, and was District 21 President. He remained active in the Masons and the Shrine for as long as he was able. Frank loved Coleen with all of his heart. She and their children were his joy in life and he was extremely proud of all of them. Frank was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his precious wife, Coleen, and his children - Debby Richardson (Gary), Diane Shelton (Cecil),Darrell Bundy (Barbara), and Darlene Hawes, all of Oklahoma City; Dennis Bundy (Lynn Sterling) of Garland, Texas, and Danny Bundy of Kansas City, Kansas. He is also survived by his brother, Kenneth Bundy, and 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter. The Bundy family would like to thank Theresa, Josh, Kira, and Judy of Crossroads Hospice for their loving and conscientious care. The funeral service for Frank will be 1 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2014, at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Chapel.
