Fumiko was born on January 22, 1932, on Saipan, an Island in the Northern Mariana Islands and was beloved by her many siblings. After World War II, in her young adult life, Fumiko worked for a military base and a Christian radio station. She spent many years in missionary work in Okinawa, Japan, where she worked with children in an orphanage. Fumiko wed her husband of over 40 years, Harry Johnson Jr. a United States Marine. Together they moved from her home in Japan to live in a new culture in the United States. Fumiko lived in Oklahoma City, OK, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school, singing in church, and tending to her garden. She loved to sew and knit, making clothes for her children and grandchildren. Her life is remembered for the way she lived daily and led by examples through her love for Christ, attending Japanese bible study, reading her bible daily, and praying continuously. Fumiko was preceded in death by her parents, Seiko and Hana Kinjo; her husband, Harry Johnson Jr.; and two sons, Harry Johnson III and Jerry Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Larry Johnson of Coupeville, WA and Paul Johnson of Oklahoma City, OK; one daughter, Fumiko Ann Filson and her husband, Leslie of Oklahoma City, OK; three grandsons: Corey N. Filson Capt/USMC, and his wife Lakeasha, Christopher Johnson, and Andrew Filson; four granddaughters: Jessica Tuff, Kymiyo Filson, and her husband, Osajyefo, Madison Johnson, and Brooke Johnson; six great-grandchildren: Brianna Filson, Joey Tuff, Sydney Williams, Aleigha Tuff, Stormy Williams, and Graham Williams.
