Gamar Arthur "Mark" Newman, 45, resident of Yukon and former resident of Abilene, Tx, passed away April 26, 2010. He was born January 28, 1965 in Tachikawa, Japan to George and Dorothy Newman. Mark was a Captain in the US Army, with the 82nd Air Borne Rangers. He held a BA in Social Work and a Masters in Business Administration. Mark is survived by his wife of 10 years Cindi Newman; step daughter Brittany Sasser; parents George and Dorothy; brother George; sister Kyra and husband Bill Staples; nephew Joshua and niece Alison as well as a host of other loved ones and friends. Viewing will be at Hahn-Cook funeral home Thursday 8am to 9pm. A memorial service will be 10 am, Friday, April 30, 2010, at Henderson Hills Baptist Church with burial of Mark's ashes at Ft. Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK, following at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Transformation Recovery, Good Works Ministries or Sunbeam Family Services.
