Gene Burris Sr. was born on May 6, 1957 in Knox City, Texas. He attended the University of Central Oklahoma. Gene worked as a salesman and enjoyed vacations to the beach with family. He loved to barbeque and grill. He was an artist, an avid movie lover and enjoyed going to the theater. He loved photography and enjoyed competing in wrestling, high jump, track and field, and tennis in his younger years. Gene loved watching sporting events, especially the NBA, Oklahoma State University football and basketball games.
He leaves behind his parents, Clint and Ella Mae Burris. He is survived by ex-wife Rosemary D. Burris and children Gene Burris Jr. of Oklahoma City and Crystal Geiss and husband, Timothy Geiss from Mustang, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Connor J. Geiss and Arielle R. Geiss; brother, Roy Burris and spouse Jennifer Burris of Houston, Texas; sisters, Helen Vinson, Dorothy Prentice and husband Willie Prentice, Dale Hardy and husband Terry Hardy all of Oklahoma City. Gene will also be missed by his niece and ten nephews.
