Gerald "Jerry" Wayne Jay, age 85, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2021. "Jerry" was born February 23, 1936 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Hattie (Garman) Jay and Sylvan Jay. A visitation for "Jerry" will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 9:00 AM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service-South Chapel, 7720 South Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73159. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM, 7720 South Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73159. A burial will occur Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 1:00 PM. A burial will occur at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 2301 East Indian Hills Road, Norman, OK 73071.

Jerry Wayne Jay, was born February 23, 1936. He was the son of Sylvan and Hattie (Garman) Jay. He grew up in Oklahoma City, OK and graduated from Capitol Hill Highschool. He then moved onto a 41 year career working as a Union Carpenter and home builder. Jerry married Janice L. (Gaberdiel) Jay; they spent 44 wonderful years together. Jerry was an active spirit, and enjoyed drag boats, camping, water skiing, stock car racing, motorcycles, and spending time with his family. He will always be remembered for his quick wit, outgoing personality, and being a loving father to his children, and a devoted husband to Janice. Jerry is survived by his wife, Janice L. Jay; daughter Debbie Mauldin (Randy) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; son Melvin W. Jay (Mitzi) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; step daughter Sherri Muzny (David) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; step son Rick Pugh (Christy) of El Reno, Oklahoma; and step son Lyndel Pugh (Mary) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sister Evelyn Cochran of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and brother Jimmy Jay of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Jerry was preceded in death by father Sylvan Jay and mother Hattie (Garman) Jay; brother Teddy Jay and sister Shirley. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are Justin Miller, Matthew Jay, Mitchel Jay, Tyler Muzny, Hunter Muzny, Brandon Pugh, Nicholas Pugh and Nathan Pugh.
