

After a protracted battle with cancer, Greg LaFever died on July 20, 2015 in Midwest City, OK at the age of 51 years old. He leaves behind his wife, De De LaFever, his daughters, Destiny and Graceson LaFever and son Brayden LaFever. Greg was born August 7, 1963 in to father Lynn LaFever and mother Jo LaFever. Greg graduated from Putnam City West in 1981. Greg excelled in athletics especially baseball. Greg LaFever sports career started in 1971 at age 7. He played little league baseball and football and continued upon entering High School at PCWest. Greg playing baseball and football through his senior year where he earned All-State honors his senior year as a pitcher. Greg struck out 14 batters in a state championship game. He was also the kicker on the high school football team and played baseball in the summers on an American Legion baseball team.
Greg went on to professional baseball after college where he played for the Cleveland Indians, San Antonio Missions, and Los Angeles Dodgers to name a few.
Greg and De De LaFever married on April 18, 1992 shortly after meeting and moved to Oklahoma City, OK for three years then moved to Midwest City where they lived during their marriage.
Greg is survived by his wife and children, his parents, as well as his brother Lynn of Mustang, OK and sister Roni of TX, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Ray and Doris Bradshaw of Choctaw, OK and brothers-in-law Ron Bradshaw of Choctaw, Alan Bradshaw of Edmond, and Philip Bradshaw of Choctaw, OK; numerous nieces and nephews.
