Gregory Winston Beavers
November 8, 1959 – November 13, 2019
Gregory Winston Beavers, age 60 of Oklahoma City, passed from this life on November 13, 2019. Services have been entrusted to the care of Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services located at 7720 S. Pennsylvania Ave. in Oklahoma City. A memorial service honoring his life will be held at 10am on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the funeral home. Greg was born on November 08, 1959 to William and Bernice (Winston) Beavers. He attended Bishop McGuinness Schools before transferring to Mount St. Mary’s High School. He was awarded a track and field scholarship and proudly attended Oklahoma State University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in accounting. He went to work for Oklahoma Natural Gas as an accountant for almost a decade before going to work for Hertz. It was at Hertz that he met the love of his life, Lisa Stone, and the two were married in 2004. He then went to work for Hartford where he loyally remained for over a decade until his leave of absence in 2019 when his health would no longer allow it. Greg thoroughly enjoyed track and field, OSU football, and golf. When he felt well, he played golf daily at the Links even when the weather was too cold for most golfers. He loved animals, especially his dog Bella, a gift he was given by Lisa. He enjoyed telling stories and being around Lisa’s family as well as playing cards and cooking. Music, especially Jazz, held a special place in his heart. He will be remembered as an easy going man who made friends easily, but above all else cherished his time with his family, especially his loving wife and companion of 15 years. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Greg was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Beavers. He is survived by his wife, Lisa (Stone) Beavers; step-daughter, Layla Thompson and husband Matt; step grandchildren: Blue, Phoenix, and Lana; parents, William and Bernice Beavers; sisters: Anna Beavers and Angie Washington; as well as many other beloved family members and friends.
