Harold Jonathan Acree Jr.

Harold Jonathan “Hal” Acree Jr., 78, of Midwest City, Oklahoma, passed away on September 8, 2026, in Midwest City, Oklahoma, surrounded by the love of the family who meant everything to him. Hal was born on April 25, 1948, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Harold J. Acree Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Ausmus Acree.

On September 20, 1969, Hal married the love of his life, Diane Forrester. Together, they built a life and family that Hal treasured above everything else. They were blessed with two children, Michael and Casey. Casey and her husband, Christopher Denton, gave Hal three grandchildren, Aiden, Jackson, and Kendall, who became some of the greatest joys of his life. Hal also had a special place in his heart for his bonus daughter, Kami Irwin.

Sports were a lifelong passion for Hal. He was a gifted athlete himself and loved baseball and golf, but some of his greatest joy came from sharing that love with others. Over the years, Hal coached and encouraged countless young athletes. He didn’t just teach them how to play a game; he gave his time, patience, knowledge, and encouragement.

Hal proudly served his country in the United States Army. He later dedicated 36 years of his career to Tinker Air Force Base before retiring in 2008. Retirement didn’t slow him down for long, and he continued working in military contracting until 2023.

Away from work, Hal could often be found enjoying a round of golf, spending time with his family, helping someone who needed him, or loving on an animal. He had a generous heart—sometimes generous to a fault—and giving to others simply came naturally to him.

Those who knew Hal will remember his beautiful smile, his striking blue eyes, his love of sports, and the enormous heart behind all of it. Above everything else, Hal loved his family completely.

Hal is survived by his beloved wife, Diane; his children, Michael and Casey; son-in-law, Christopher Denton; his grandchildren, Aiden, Jackson, and Kendall; his bonus granddaughter, Kami Irwin; his brother, Don Acree and wife Kim; his nephew Ryan Acree and wife Ashley and their son Jay; his niece Taylor Acree; Sister in law Linda Forrester : nieces Jennifer Forrester and Shelley Moore and husband Joe Moore and their sons, Josh and Calvin Moore, Calvin’s daughters Jordyn and Peyton , along with extended family, friends, former coworkers, athletes he coached, and countless others whose lives were made better simply because Hal was part of them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold J. Acree Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Ausmus Acree.

A lifetime never feels long enough when someone is loved this much. Hal leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured by the years he worked, the games he coached, or even the accomplishments of his life. His greatest legacy is the family he loved so fiercely and the love they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

Visitation will be held at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141, US, on September 14, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A graveside service will be held at Arlington Memorial Gardens, 3400 North Midwest Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 731419699, US, on September 15, 2026, at 10:00 am.
