Harvey Deaune Humphrey, 85, of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away February 17, 2022 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Harvey Deaune Humphrey was born August 19, 1936, the first son to Harold Edward and Cleta Edna (Elliot) Humphrey, in Cordell, Oklahoma. Harvey and his little brother, Dale, were orphaned at a very early age but they remained close throughout their lives; being there for one another.
After graduating Cordell High School, Harvey joined the work force right away. In 1959, the Army drafted Harvey and he went off to serve his country. He was stationed in Korea for two years. Upon his honorable discharge, Harvey worked as a machinist for different manufacturing companies and retired from Little Giant Pump Company.
Harvey could make or fix anything he set his mind to doing and he did it right. He thought things through; made a plan and was methodical with his ideas. He was very good with his hands and could create with any medium. Harvey even made the most beautiful wood casket for his cat.
Harvey became quite the collector of things such as clocks and cameras. Harvey was very calm and methodical when it came to fixing his collection, too.
Although they had different upbringings, Harvey and Dale stayed closely connected and went on many hunting and fishing trips together and would enjoy riding their ATV’s.
Harvey is preceded in death by his parents and his lifelong companion of 30 years, Evelyn. Harvey is survived by his brother Dale (Flora) Humphrey of Yukon, OK and sister Jolanda Hendricks of Arlington, TX.
