Haskell Delbert Bass, 87-year-old resident of Choctaw, OK, passed away Dec. 31, 2010 in Midwest City, OK. Born April 12, 1923 in Wellston, OK, he was the son of Phillip Harry Bass and Hazel Stephens Bass. Haskell was a sheet metal worker at Tinker A. F.B. for many years. His favorite thing in life was to play the “Fiddle”. He learned to play by watching his grandfather play but never had any formal lessons. He also liked playing dominoes and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Settie; 1 sister, Helen; and 1 great-granddaughter, Lenae. Survivors include 1 son, Delbert Bass of Ft. Cobb, OK; 1 daughter, Delpha Mitchell and her husband, Gerald of Choctaw, OK; 4 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel with burial following at Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, OK.
