

Helen Constance Papahronis fell asleep unto the Lord on Monday, January 17, 2011 in Oklahoma City. She was born July 5, 1939 in St. Louis to Greek immigrants, Peter and Hressi Mirras. In 1959, she married her husband of 51 years, Chris and Helen moved to Oklahoma City where they later co-founded and ran their own business, Metro Supply Company.
She was truly a selfless person who gave of herself to her family and friends. She was also a devoted member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church.
She is preceded in death by both parents and sister Cynthia Reid. Survivors include husband Chris Papahronis, sister Ida Vias, brother Jim Mirras and wife Joyce, daughter Christie Akins and husband Scot, son Frank Papahronis and wife Beth, son Peter Papahronis and wife Konstantina, and four grandchildren who always gave her great joy, Matthew and Michael Akins, and Antonia and Elleni Papahronis.
Trisagion Service will be held at 7:00pm Friday, January 21 at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Chapel and the funeral service will take place at 11:00am Saturday, January 22 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 2101 NW 145th St., Oklahoma City, OK 73134.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen’s name to “Flowers That Do Not Wither Foundation” in care of St. George Greek Orthodox Church.
