

Helen Marie Fryrear, aged 65, of Lexington, Oklahoma passed away at her daughter Melinda's home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born on January 31, 1958, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City to Charles Douglas McDaniels and Gloria Ann McKinney. Helen grew up in Tuttle's countryside, where she developed a love for country music and like most girls her age, she loved Elvis Presley.
Helen was a devoted mother who always put her children first and cherished her family above all else. She wanted to be remembered for the person she was before her illness and the time she spent with her grandchildren, making them laugh.
Helen had been in a long-term relationship with Houston Eugene Pickens for 35 years and is survived by him. She is also survived by her children Melinda Lugo and Rene Lugo-Gonzalez, Robert Fryrear, and Gary Fly; grandchildren Autumn Shelley, Devin Shelley, Delyssa Fryrear, Morgan Fryrear, Gabriel Fryrear, Atticus Fryrear, and Elijah Fryrear; brothers Doug McDaniels, David Taylor and wife Donna Taylor, Ricky McDaniels and wife Beverly McDaniels, Mark McDaniels and wife Janice McDaniels, Roy Taylor and wife Donna Taylor, Alex McDaniels; sisters Debra Deck, Pamela Conttrell and Wesley Conttrell; sister-in-law Patricia McDaniels; many nieces and nephews, and her fur baby Chubbs.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Randy Taylor, George McDaniels, and sister-in-law Tina McDaniels.
A graveside service to honor Helen will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Boggy Depot Cemetery in Atoka, Oklahoma.
