Helga Marga Wanda (Langer) Constant, 94, passed away February 26, 2019. She was born in Breslau, Schlesien (Silesia) Germany, and studied pre-architecture in college. Helga had a lifelong love of all animals, art, and gourmet cooking.
The events of WWII forced her family to flee, and afterwards, she worked for the American Postal Service in Germany as a phone operator. She met her husband, Nick, and they married in Switzerland. They lived in Germany for several years before moving to the East Coast of the United States.
In 1964, the family moved to Oklahoma, settling in Oklahoma City and attended St. George Greek Orthodox Church. Helga loved St. George and served as a Sunday school teacher for many years.
Mrs. Constant was preceded in death by her son, Gregory; husband, Nick; brother Walter; sister, Elsa; and sister, Friedl.
She is survived by son, Alfred; his wife, Maricel; her daughters, Aeisha and Majienne; daughter, Elaine; daughter, Martha; grandson, Jeremiah; grandson, Nick; granddaughter, Anastasia; and several great-grandchildren.
She will be sorely missed by her friends and relatives. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. George Sunday School or the www.okhumane.org in her name.
