Herman L. Reisman (Leon) age 88 passed away Wednesday January 27th, 2021 at his Home in Mustang Oklahoma. Born August 7, 1932 in Banner Ok to Vernon and Rose Lee (Long) Reisman. After Graduating Mustang High School, Leon enlisted in the United States Army Reserve and was deployed to serve his Country in the Korean War 1952-1954. He advanced to Rank of Sergeant in the 196th Artillery, and was awarded the Korean Service Medal W/1 Bronze Star, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and ROK Presidential Unit Citation. Leon was a Machinist by trade, he retired from Lucent Technologies in 1995.
Leon learned and developed a Strong work ethic at a young age working the Farm and Land his Family lived on in Mustang Oklahoma. He was raised to work Hard for everything he had and to value every penny he made. He shared many stories over the years of life growing up on the Farm with his Parents, 5 Sisters and one Brother. His Sister’s gave him the nickname “Popeye” because of his incredible strength around the Family farm. Leon was a Master Mechanic and could repair or fix anything! After returning from Korea he married his first wife Helen Maytubby and they had 4 Children, 3 Sons and one Daughter. After they Divorced Leon Married Maria Marianos Clemons and raised her two Daughters as if they were his own. Years later he once again was called upon to raise two Grandson’s. He was a Caretaker to his Wife Maria for many years before she passed away. Leon was a Hardworking Man who provided and cared for his Family, Children and Grandchildren for many years throughout his lifetime. Most of us raise one Family, Leon raised three. Leon enjoyed Camping, Water Skiing, Celebrating Holidays and Birthdays. He also enjoyed a Good game of Checkers or Domino's and watching the Sooner's football Team play. Taking Care of others was an integral part of the Man he was and his Memory will remain in our Hearts as a Man of Integrity, Wisdom, and Compassion.
Leon is proceeded in Death by his Parents, Wife Maria Reisman, Son Kenneth Reisman, Daughter Deborah Jay, and Sisters Margie, Verna and Phyllis. He is survived by two Sons Stan Reisman and Dan Reisman, Daughter’s Jennifer Welcher and Husband Dave and Rebekah Cassity and Husband David. 11 Grandchildren Brandie, Michael, Jeremy, Tyler, Zackary, Travis, Tamara, Lockard, Mercedes, Mason and Kamron. 6 Great Grandchildren, Shelby, Kyler, Addyson, Adelynn, Carson and Ryker. Sisters Shirley Mitchell and Ann Peckham and Brother Bill Reisman. Numerous Nephews, Nieces and Friends.
