Homer Floyd Sams, was born on May 26, 1916. He was one of seven children born to Philip and Nancy Sams. He was a life time member of Post 8798 in Eufaula, OK. He received an Honorable Discharge from the Navy after serving in WWII. For a man that never had any children of his own, he was blessed with love from many sons and daughters that were a part of his life, and who loved him like a father.
He leaves behind his mate of 25 years, Ruth Rodgers, and her children Denny, Robert, and Carolyn. He also leaves behind the children of his late wife Rose Sams; Chuck, Glenda, Carol and R’honda, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews that will miss his presence in their lives. He was preceded in death by his first wife Gladys Sams.
He was a member of Capitol Hill Baptist Church and was baptized in 1955. Homer always paid his own way and that of others. He was a proud man and was determined to be to the end.
