Lee, as he was known to friends and family—and “Papa Bear” to his many grandchildren—was the son of Alvie Sanford Norman Sr. and Josie Minnie Golding. He served his country in the United States Air Force for eight and a half years before retiring from Civil Service at Tinker Air Force Base.
Lee graduated with a Master’s degree in Theology from Christian Life School of Theology and spent more than six decades serving as a pastor.
Throughout his years of ministry, Rev. Lee Norman led countless souls to the Lord while pastoring 10 churches in Oklahoma, Texas, and Wisconsin. His accomplishments also included serving with the Southern Baptists’ Home Mission Board, directing the Southern Baptist Summer Camps in Wisconsin, and serving as Moderator of the Grady County Southern Baptist Association.
He is survived by his wife and the love of his life of 69 years, Dixie Lee Norman; his five children, Deborah Chambers, Lee Norman Jr., Darryl Norman, Cyndi Turner, and Lisa Norman; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Alvie, Verda, Ellis, and Delbert, and is survived by his sister, Hazle.
Visitation will be held at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141, US, on October 10, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home on October 10, 2026, at 4:30 pm. Burial will take place at Fort Sill National Cemetery, 2648 NE Jake Dunn Rd, Elgin, OK 73538, US, on October 12, 2026, at 9:00 am.
