Ima Ruth Smith

Our hearts broke when Heaven called you home - Ima Ruth Smith passed away on August 10, 2013. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a special friend to many. She was born on December 28, 1925 in Bells, Texas to Lucian and Rosa Reed. She was the baby of 11, all of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Charles Smith and a daughter, Linda Brasher. She leaves behind a son, Bill and wife Linda Nunn of Stigler, OK; a daughter, Charlene and husband, Gary Sanford of Midwest City, OK; a step son, Richard and wife Elaine Smith from Poway, CA; two step daughters, Barbara Smith of Ponca City, OK, and Kay Elmer of Winterpark, Florida; and a son-in-law Donnie Brasher of Frisco, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. This beautiful lady loved to be a care taker for the many people in her life. She loved spending time with her family, sewing, cooking, gardening, babysitting, playing bingo and doing what she could to help others. She will be greatly missed but we know that we will see her again in Heaven. Services will be held at Sunnylane Southern Baptist Church in Del City on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 2:00 pm with burial at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
