Ivan Gene Casteel

A visitation for Ivan will be held Saturday, December 19, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service-South Chapel, 7720 South Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73159. A funeral service will occur Monday, December 21, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Southwest Baptist Church, 1300 SW 54th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73119. A burial will occur Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 9:00 AM at Ft. Sill National Cemetery, 2648 NE Jake Dunn Rd, Elgin, OK 73538.

Ivan Gene Casteel, age 85, of OKC, went home to be with his Savior on Wednesday, December 16th, 2020.

Ivan was born April 13th, 1935 in Stilwell Oklahoma to John Rufus and Etta Fern (Smith) Casteel. He accepted Christ as his Savior April 12, 1952. He graduated from Stilwell High School in 1952 then went to work in Tulsa for Glidden Paint Company. In January 1958 joined the Army and served two years, mostly in Arlington, Virginia. He married Mary Blakemore of Stilwell in 1960. They have 4 children, David, Larry, Gary and Tammy. In 1973 they joined Emmanuel Baptist Church in Moore and began working in the bus ministry. He became the associate pastor in 1974 and served for 12 years. In 1988, he founded Beth Haven Baptist Church in Oklahoma City and pastored for 20 years. He retired from pastoring in 2008 because of his health. He was proceeded in death by his parents, John and Etta Casteel, and 4 sisters, Elaine Raleigh, JoAnn Kester, Johnnie Hillis and Linda Sue Hummingbird. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary, his sons, David and his wife Marcia of OKC, Larry of OKC, Gary and his wife Erin of OKC, and his daughter Tammy and her husband Ivan of Norman, as well as one brother, Ronnie Casteel of Bixby.
