Jackie (Jack) Ray Botkin, a long-time resident of Oklahoma City, passed away on January 1, 2026, at the age of 92. Born in Seminole, Oklahoma, on December 13, 1933, Jack was the son of Murl Carl Botkin and Flossie Lois (Dodd) Botkin.
Jack graduated from Oklahoma A&M College (now Oklahoma State University) in 1956 with a degree in business. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After his service, He received his Certified Public Accountant credentials on January 27, 1976. Jack enjoyed a successful career, beginning with Wolf & Company accounting firm and then self-employed with Shock, Henley and Botkin until he retired.
A member of Highland Hills Baptist Church, Jack served as a deacon and financial treasurer. He was also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants and Optimus Club Member. He was known for his dedication to both his professional and personal life, including his many years as a loving husband, Dad, Papa, and friend.
Jack married Mary Laverne Smith on May 6, 1961, and they shared a wonderful life together for 64 years. He is survived by his wife, Mary, and their four children: Steven Wayne Botkin, and wife Jill of Oklahoma City, OK; Jacqueline Kay Botkin Horvath, and husband Gary of Yukon, OK; Scott Alan Botkin, and wife Crystie of Moore, OK; and Kristi Diane Botkin Denwalt and husband Brent of Piedmont, OK. Jack is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
Jack was passionate about traveling, especially with his wife. Together, they visited all 50 states (except Alaska) and traveled to Canada and Mexico. He also enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with friends, square dancing, spending time with his family and an avid Ham Radio operator. He will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the joy he brought to everyone around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Murl and Flossie Botkin, sister, Ella May Wood, and brother-in-law Raymond Wood.
Jack will be greatly missed by all who knew him and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
