OBITUARY

James Ellis Blackwell

January 9, 2001December 1, 2019

James Ellis Blackwell, age 18, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Tulsa on Sunday, December 1, 2019. James Blackwell was born on January 8, 2001 and became a permanent member of the Willis family in 2018. His big sister Whitney loved him from the day he was born. They were separated when they were both young but she never stopped looking for him. When she found him again she joyfully resumed her role as his big protective sister. James loved it when his family visited with him. James was a bright light who brought joy to those who met him. Lydia Willis and James meet in 2009 and became the best of friends almost immediately after their first meeting. James enjoyed most of his days by playing on his Ipad watching and listening to his favorite song “The Wonkey Donkey” and skyping with his friends he met during his stays at the J.D. McCarty Center. James had the most contagious smile and laugh. He quickly made friends and became like a family at the center. James could make friends with anyone because of his great sense of humor and laugh. James loved things in order and was constantly trying to be more organized with his belongings. James was always trying to brighten even some of the darkest days with his smile and laugh. James became best friends with Lydia Willis and Isela Plascenia. He loved keeping in touch with them regularly through skype daily (sometimes multiple times a day). James, like most boys his age, loved going to eat pizza, ice cream, soda, and all other junk food. Most importantly James had a deep love for the people close to him and cherished all the time they would spend together reading books, singing silly songs and dancing. James put a light in everyone he came in contact with. James' body may be gone but he will forever live through all the lives he touched.

I met James in july, as I work with him and he was such a sweet young man and did indeed love his iPad and going to the store picking out sweets, it's just sad because the little time I knew him it's like I've been knowing him, I will miss seeing him, last Friday was the last time I worked with james, it's just so sad but Rest in Peace James

James was a very special friend to me and he always knew how to make me smile. He was funny, sweet, loving and strong willed. He showed me how to see life in a different way and taught me that even in the hardest moments of life we should enjoy the little things like eating pizza, reading a funny book or singing silly animal songs. I love you friend, thank you for everything!

When my baby brother came in this world. Immediately I felt to be overprotective of him. He was always bright in my eyes. He had a heart of gold. On my journey of fighting for him able to visit him and be around him. My heart melt when he notice who I was to him. Tell u the truth I thought he wouldn't know who I was when I first seen him as a grown young man. But boy was I wrong lol. He knew his oldest sister. I always felt like he was my baby that's why I was trying to get him so he could be home. Now I'm lost and it's really hurting me that he is gone. I love my baby brother and this is not going to be easy 🕊️ rest up baby boy Intel we see each other again.
