James Albert Mason Jr.

James Mason Jr., 80 year-old resident of Choctaw, Oklahoma, passed away April 20, 2012 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Born in Clarita, Oklahoma, on October 27, 1931, he was the son of James Albert Mason, Sr. and Eloise James Mason. A member of the Chickasaw tribe he was married to Colene Burditt Mason. James worked as a truck driver and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed traveling; going to the lake; his dogs, owning a Pomeranian, Poodle, and Yorkie over the years; and OU girls’ basketball and softball. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Patsy A. Mason; and all of his siblings. He is survived by his wife Colene Mason of the home; one son, Tony Mason of Newalla, Oklahoma; two daughters, Mona Mason of Midwest City, Oklahoma; and Sandy Mason of Choctaw, Oklahoma, two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd St., OKC, OK, 73141 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 22, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 23, 2012, at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home at 2:00 pm with Chaplain Richard Chew officiating. Cremation will follow the service at a later date.
