He is preceded in death by his brother Rickey Olson, his mother Velma Jean Johnson, his stepfather Menford Johnson, his father Leroy Olson, his great nieces Victoria Garza and Jessica Childers, his nephews John Ringgold and Christopher Trent, his niece Melissa Aguilar and brother-in-law Brian Freeland.
He is survived by sisters, Shellie Tellez, Cathy Ringgold, Nickie Johnson, Marie Freeland, and Elsie Olson, brother Mike Wilkinson, as well as, 16 nieces and nephews, and 23 great nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed making jewelry and dealing with antiques. James loved his family and spending time with his many nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed listening to Country, Jazz, and Blues.
The funeral service is on February 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Advantage Funeral Home Chapel, 7720 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Oklahoma City, OK 73159. The visitation is Monday, February 21, 2022 from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be at Resthaven Cemetery, 500 SW 104th ST Oklahoma City, OK 73139.
