Janet Lee Collier, 57, Piedmont, Oklahoma, passed away July 11, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Janet Lee Holt was born to Thomas and Myrtle Holt on September 24, 1961, in Altus, Oklahoma and was the youngest of fourteen siblings. She married Fred Collier on September 27, 1984. Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Myrtle Holt; four brothers, J.C. Holt, James Holt, Johnny Holt, Roy Holt; and two sisters, Shirley Smith and Darlene Evans.

Janet was the mother of two sons, Vincent Crowley and Robert Collier; and one daughter, Jessica Parsons; wife of 35 years to Fred Collier; proud Nana of four grandchildren, Rylie Crowley, Brayden Parsons, Chloe Crowley and Jordan Parsons; and fur momma to Ozzie and Hanker.

Janet spent over thirty years in a nursing career beginning in Altus, Oklahoma, and completed her career as an RN cardiac triage nurse at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. Janet loved the nursing profession. Her natural compassion, positive attitude, work ethic, and humor was beloved by her patients, coworkers, family and friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and playing with her furbabies. Over the last six years she waged a courageous battle with breast cancer.

She is survived by her husband, Fred Collier; her children Vincent Crowley, Jessica Parsons and Robert Collier; one brother, Jackie and Amy Holt; six sisters, Betty Farrow, Thelma and Jim Sanborn, Lawanda Rogers, Francine and Shaun Morris, Laura and Sherman Mullis and Valerie Holt; four grandchildren Rylie Crowley, Brayden Parsons, Chloe Crowley and Jordan Parsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals who provided love and care during this time. A special thanks to Dr. Canfield, Kay Faught, Dr. Varghese, Dr. Schomas, and the staff at Mercy Oncology and Hospital. We would also like to send thanks to Dr. Craven, and Janet’s coworkers and staff at Oklahoma Heart Hospital.

A memorial service in honor of Janet’s life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 11:00 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 Northwest Expressway, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Susan G. Komen Foundation would be appreciated at www.komenoklahoma.org.
