Janice Bettis Roberts, 66, of OKC, went into the loving arms of Jesus on November 19, 2010, after a courageous battle with diabetes and chronic renal disease. She was born on April 8, 1944 in OKC to Lloyd and Barbara Jones. She graduated from Northwest Classen in 1962 and attended business school. Janice worked for Don Brown as his bookkeeper and administrative assistant for many years. Janice attended church at Church on the Rock as long as she was able. Janice took great joy in spending time with her grandchildren, reading and maintaining her many personal collections. Janice worked for years to restore the relationship with the Native American community through the Oklahoma Concert of Prayer. Friends could always count on her to lead a prayer chain whenever one was needed; because of this calling, she often thought about going into the ministry later in life. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, David Lloyd Jones, II. She is survived by her son Charles and his wife Rachel of OKC; her three grandchildren, Elijah, Sophia and Lola; sister, Karen Gregory of Edmond; and niece Lindsey Gregory of Scottsdale. Janice was a loving mother, grandmother and friend whose life was built around family, friends and church. We believe she is dancing in heaven and waits to see all her friends and family again one day there. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association. A memorial gathering will be held at noon Wednesday, November 24, at Grace Covenant Church, OKC.
