Janiece V. Edds, 87, passed away January 1, 2015 at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born July 20, 1927 in Hays, Kansas to Raymond and Elizabeth Morris, the fourth of six siblings. In her youth, Janiece enjoyed various styles of dancing with friends and family, eventually meeting the love of her life, William G. Edds (deceased 2009) at a local VFW dance. Janiece was married to William November 8, 1948 and were happily married for over 66 years. The couple began raising their family of six children, eventually relocating to Oklahoma City, OK in 1971. William and Janiece were also actively involved in the Catholic Church, rarely missing a Holy day of Obligation at each other’s side. Janiece and her family have been members of Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church for over 43 years. Janiece delighted her children and their friends as well as her grandchildren throughout the years by making homemade rolls and other baked goods. Janiece also took great pride in her family, extensively chronicling major life events in journals, photo albums and spoken narratives. Janiece is survived by sons William V. Edds and wife Leann (OKC, OK) and Michael J. Edds, Daughters Joanne Vobach and husband Mike (Topeka, KS), Rita Dobinski and husband David (Fargo, ND), Gloria Williams and husband Dale (Warr Acres, OK), and Rose Marie Edds (Tulsa, OK), nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many other loving family members. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday January 7, 7:00PM at Guardian Funeral Home West Chapel with a Catholic Mass Thursday January 8, 11:00AM at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens of OKC.
