

J.B. Grizzard was born to Jesse and Eva Mae Grizzard on April 16th, 1937. He was the 3rdof 9 children. He was born in Pierce,(Richardsville) OK. He attended Warrior Elementary School. He left home at an early age to start to his own life’s journey. He was married to Patricia A Traywicks on January 28th, 1972. They lived in Oklahoma City and frequented his childhood home in Checotah, OK. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He loved spending quality time with his family and friends. He had many travels with work and family. He was a construction worker by trade and a wonderful handyman.
He was baptized at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, were he also served as a church Deacon. He was a good neighbor always willing to help those in need. He was a mentor for AA. He was also a member of his churches Brotherhood group.
He leaves behind Patricia Grizzard his wife of 39 years, his 6 children, Barbara Sue Freeman of Oklahoma City, OK, James B. Grizzard of Tempe, AZ, Cleda Faye Campbell of Tulsa, OK, Kevin Grizzard of Oklahoma City, OK, Kristy Finley of Oklahoma City, OK, and Kenneth Grizzard of Charleston, SC. He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
His mother, father, 1 brother Jesse Jr., 1 sister Joann, and 1 son Robert preceded him in death. He also leaves behind 2 brothers Eugene Grizzard, Jerry Grizzard, and 4 sisters Corrine Dukes, Shirley Richardson, Pearlie Mae Heard, and Linda Ligons.
He touched the lives of so many. He was a father, a brother, an uncle, and a friend to so many not just his family. His kindness, laughter, warm heart, and jovial spirit will live on in the lives of those he’s touched.
