Active advocate for passage of Licensed Practical Nurses Act 1950’s) Married: to Donald Judson Holt, 1956. 3 daughters: Middle daughter, Kimberly, has Down's Syndrome. Active volun¬teer, several schools; Guest speaker to schools (especially Health-related subjects). Harding Middle School: Assisted staff in inclusion of Basic First Aid classes, Growth and Development Programs as part of curriculum, and in actively teaching classes related to those subjects. Red Cross: Multiple areas of volunteer service: Instructorcvaried courses -- CPR, First Aid, baby-sitting, Home Nursing, Disaster nursing. Parent advisor, Red Cross Youth programs. Camp Nurse, Youth Leadership Camps: Health Fairs: Chairman, Red Cross-School Health Room Programs. Church: Board of Deacons: Instructor, Sunday Schools, Youth Club, Vacation Church School. Costume designer, coordinator, director various church and choir presentations. In 1988, became a very vocal and active parent-guardian advocate to protest proposed changes in programs, eligibility criteria, and proposed closures of institutions, group homes, sheltered workshops.
