

Jerry Smart, Sr. “Daddy” passed away on June 7, 2011. Jerry was a devoted family man who will be missed dearly. Jerry was born in 1930 in Arkansas but soon found the love of his life, Virginia, in Oklahoma. Jerry and Virginia were married in 1950 and raised 3 children.
Jerry was a one-of-a-kind man who loved to fish, garden and spend time at the family cabin on Lake Eufaula. Jerry’s favorite vacation spot was Galveston, Texas where he could fish off the coast, go deep-sea fishing and enjoy the beach. Jerry was an inspiration and if he was your friend you knew you had a real friend in this world. Jerry was a retired sheet metal union member and a member of Cherokee Hills Baptist Church.
Jerry is survived by his devoted Wife, Virginia; Son, Jerry Smart, Jr.; Daughters, Carol Gilbert; Jennie Brixey & husband David; Granddaughter, Amanda Andrews & husband Mike; great-grandchildren, Mikey & Jayden Andrews – all of OKC; sister Dollie Modglin & husband Asile of Missouri; and best friend Carl Carter also of OKC.
The family will receive guests from 6-8 p.m. on Thurs. at Guardian West Funeral Home. Services are 2:00PM, Fri. June 10, 2011 at Cherokee Hills Baptist Church, with interment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Flowers may be sent, or monetary donations may be made to Cherokee Hills Baptist Church general fund, 5700 NW 63rd, OKC, 73132.
