Born in Clodine, TX on December 17, 1937 to the late John Lee Foy and Vera Lee (Davis) Foy, Jesse Bee Foy was the third of 11 children (seven of which preceded him in death). He accepted Christ at a young age which gave him the strength and courage to overcome Polio and go on to live a successful and prosperous life.
Jesse was a very loving and caring person as shown by many who affectionately called him Uncle Jesse per his request. He graduated from M.R. Wood High School. He got a certificate of training in Engineering at Frances Tuttle Vocational and Technical Education Center and earned a degree in Industrial Art from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1980.
Jesse highly promoted education and encouraged his four children to get their college degree, which they all did. He also served as a substitute teacher at Star Spencer High School in the early 90’s. This is where all of his children attended and graduated (Go Bobcats!).
Jesse met the love of his life Evone Holland (Jewett, TX) in Houston, TX on the campus of Texas Southern University (TSU) when he offered to carry her books and her mail bag from her part-time job. Talk about a great example of chivalry. The rest as they say is history. They were married in 1966 on Valentine’s Day. Four beautiful and wonderful children were born to this union - three boys and one girl.
They moved to Oklahoma City, OK to begin their life together. Jesse retired from Oklahoma Natural Gas in 1992 after 25 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where he sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and ushered. After moving to Spencer, OK, they joined St. Luke Baptist Church where he served in the Men’s Ministry and as a mentor for Whiz Kids. Whiz Kids is a program where students learn to improve their literacy skills through a partnership between churches and schools.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Vera Foy, five brothers Lee Vivian, Ellis Bob (Norma), Al Erving, Albert (Carrie), newborn baby and two sisters Lois Mae McCLemore and Charles Rae Strambler (Charles). He leaves to cherish his memories his lovely wife Evone Holland Foy, four children Zen Pierre Foy (Deadra) of Dallas, TX, Renita Vyrache Gilliam (Terrance) of OKC, OK, Marven Vierre Foy of Norman, OK and Holland Barak Foy (Carmen Michele) of Dallas, TX, grandchild Olan Jamal Marsh (Ashley), and two great grandchildren Laila Olivia and Julian Arty Marsh, three younger brothers Freddie Foy (Marilyn Gwyn), John Foy Jr., and Tommy Ray Foy all of Richards, TX as well as nine sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law, a host of nieces and nephews and many many relatives and friends.
Jesse is in heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May we prepare our hearts and minds to see him again.
