Jimmie Ann White, Barker, Harrison departed this life from her home on December 24th, 2020. Jimmie (Mamma Jimmie as many of us affectionately knew her), was born on February 25, 1935 to Earnest Jackson White and Evie Irene Simmons in Brinkman, Oklahoma. Jimmie went to school in Mangum Oklahoma and married Charles Herschel Barker there on August 31, 1951. Jimmie and Charles had three children, Pamela Sue, Charles Jr., and Brenda Ann. Jimmie married Vernon Dixie Harrison in April of 1980. In addition to the three children, Jimmie was blessed to have four sisters, thirteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jimmie was preceeded in death by her parents, Earnest and Evie White, first husband Charles Barker, second husband Vernon Harrison, her four sisters, Leola, Rachel, Peggy and Eva. Above all things Jimmie was a constant and tireless worker. She was first and foremost a mom but also helped her husband on a milk delivery route, ran a family convenience store, and was a bookkeeper at a cotton gin in SW Oklahoma. Upon retirement, Jimmie became a full-time seamstress making countless quilts, lap quilts for the wheelchair bound, table runners and place mats. For several years her work was for sale at Clara Belle’s Restaurant. She was a volunteer for Grace United Urban Ministry where she assembled plastic ware packets for homeless meals. Jimmie sang in the choir in Baptist churches in Fort Worth and Conroe Texas. She was a member of First Baptist Church of McLoud and a part-time member of Grace Point Church in McLoud. Jimmie, beyond being a tireless worker was a very caring individual who greatly loved her Lord.
Services will be officiated by Pastor Wayne Heins and Rev. Matthew Halsted.
