Jimmie Lee Reeves, 74, of Moore passed from this life July 6, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Services have been entrusted to the care of Advantage Funeral Service and a service celebrating his life will be held on Friday, July 10, 2020 at 10am at Resthaven Memory Gardens in OKC. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9 from 12 - 5pm at Advantage located at 7720 S. Pennsylvania in OKC.
Jimmie was born on February 7, 1946 in Pauls Valley, OK to Jack and Mary Lee (Morphew) Reeves. He was raised in the Moore area and graduated from Moore High School in 1964 and shortly after, he enrolled at the University of Oklahoma. In December of 1966, Jimmie married the love of his life, Hazel June Ashley. They raised two wonderful children during their 53 years together. Jimmie enlisted in the US Navy Seabees and served in the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, Jimmie returned to Oklahoma and began a career as a welder for Stewart Steel in OKC. A few years later he accepted a position as a welder at Tinker Air Force Base and he retired in the mid 2000’s as a planner in the engine propulsion program.
When he was not working, Jimmie enjoyed shooting sports, competitive shooting meets, talking about history, and riding motorcycles. He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Jimmie’s faith was important to him and he was a 15-year member of Regency Park Baptist Church and a 20+ year member of Southern Hills Baptist Church.
Jimmie Reeves was preceded in death by his by his parents: Mary Lee and Jack Reeves. He is survived by his wife and best friend Hazel Reeves; two children: Gregg Reeves and Wife Kimberly and Darin Reeves. He is also survived by his two grandchildren: Sophia and Parker Reeves and his brother Jack Reeves.
