My calendar reminder let me know that Joanna's birthday was coming up on November 11th, and the reminder brought me back to this page of memorial thoughts.  I am hoping more of my classmates at Thatcher High School might want to submit their favorite memories of Joanna to this Guest Book, and then I can have it printed and send it to Joanna's mother, Velma, and her family.   Joanna passed away a little over one year ago, on October 3, 2012.  I miss Joanna so much, and I know many others do as well.  Hoping Garry Fyffe's email address list can reach out to many of our former classmates!  (It has been 55 years since we graduated from THS!) Very sad news to learn of losing Joanna...my dear sister's best friend for many years.  My thoughts to her loving family, especially my high school good friend, Joanna,s sister,  Evelyn.  I remember this family, living just down the road from us, as Jan and I would ride our horses by the house, there was always a warm smile and wave from both girls...anyone standing in the yard! Joanna was my closest, best friend when we went to Thatcher High School and Eastern Arizona Community College together.  Our lives were entwined in everything we did together for those wonderful, memorable years, and we remained close friends ever after.  Joanna was artistic and a very bright, creative thinker...she was one of the most kind, thoughtful, and fun friends anyone could ever have.  She had so much love to give, and I'm so grateful I had her love surrounding me for more than 50 years.  I will miss her terribly, as will many who have also been blessed with her generosity, kindness and love.  Like so many other truly special people, Joanna has left us too soon, and yet I know her spirit will remain everlasting in my heart and the hearts of everyone who had the unforgettable, profound joy of knowing and loving her.

Joanna has left us all a wonderful legacy with all she taught and gave to so many of us.  She was such a giving person, so many times giving herself without question.  She was a great woman and a very special friend.  Our sincere condolenses to her family.

I had the pleasure of working with Joanna for many years at Intel. She always had a beautiful smile and was willing to help anyone.  She carried herself with a grace that I admired. She was a good friend and will be missed by many.
