Joe loved being outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer, and wood worker. Joe was a kind man who was very soft spoken but always spoke his mind. He served in the United States Air Force for over 23 years. While in the Air Force, he traveled to Turkey. Upon retiring from the Air Force, Joe worked at Tinker Air Force Base as a Combat Arms and Training Instructor. His co-workers would call him “Hacksaw”, because he could wreck anything! Joe was also a fan of University of Oklahoma football and OKC Thunder basketball.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Donnie Henderson. Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Shirley Henderson; sons, Terry Henderson and Robert Henderson and wife Lora; granddaughter, Josephine Henderson; siblings, Emma Lou Lloyd, Arnold Henderson and wife Lillie, Mozel Carnes, Ronnie Henderson, Paula K. Wehunt, and Pauline Alford; and many other friends and family members who will miss him dearly. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Joe’s name to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
