John Herbert Comer
August 13, 1949 – February 28, 2018
John Herbert Comer passed from this life to his heavenly home on February 28, 2018. John was born August 13, 1949 the son of Kenneth and Sarah Comer. He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Sarah Comer and his beloved son Kenneth Joel Comer. John is survived by 2 daughters, Dawn Michele Goff and husband Donald and daughter Camille Westbrook and husband Kevin,10 Grandchildren: Haley, Andrew, Zoie, Kenlee, Noah, Hannah, Audrey, John David, Luke, Thomas, 3 great grandchildren,sister Oneta Capps and husband Jim, nieces, nephews,cousins and many friends. John graduated from Tahlequah High School in the class of 1967. Immediately after graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corp. He did his basic training at Camp Pendleton, California. After graduation from basic training, he served a 13 month tour of duty in Vietnam as a forward observer. He loved this country and served it very proudly. He resided in Tahlequah until because of health issues he moved to Oklahoma City so he could be closer to his son, Kenny and his sister, Oneta. The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to all those friends who showed their love to John, especially those who cared for John at home in those last few months. Semper Fi. A memorial service will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City on April 7th, 2018 at 11 a.m.

Johnny, Johnny, oh how you will be missed, but know you are free of pain and with your son Kenny and your Mom and Dad, growing up as cousins you were so special to me as I hope you always knew that. Till we meet again, I love and will miss you very much.

I will miss you terribly Johnny. I will never forget all of our talks. We had some crazy and fun adventures in the 80s. You also made my 2 years in Tahlequah much easier. I am so proud to say you were a Marine. Semper Fi. Love always from your little "Air Force cuz".
