

John Wayne Gentry, passed away on March 23, 2017. John was born on October 19, 1955 in Stone County, Missouri to Gerald Dean and Virginia (Howard) Gentry. John was a great father and loved his wife, Alice very much. He was a painter who loved watching westerns, listening to country music and golden oldies, using his chainsaw, going to rodeos and auctions, and drinking Busch Lite. John had a famous saying, “why waste a ten-dollar buzz on a two-dollar sandwich.” He was very stubborn and ornery. He was a procrastinator but in the end, he always got the job done. John loved Ford cars of all kinds. At one time he bought a Chevrolet but it was only because his wife worked for General Motors. While John was incarcerated, he earned his GED that he was very proud of. John is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice Gentry; brother, Larry Gentry; and sister, Pat Thorp. Survivors include his children, Kellie, Jeremy, and Kelsea; grandchildren, Marina Gentry, Jerry Anne Gentry, Laurel Kenner, Peyton Gentry, Jacob Gentry, Samuel Gentry, Kameron Ward, Alexander Gentry, and John Wayne Gentry; great-granddaughter, Khloe O’Hagan; and siblings, Ida Howell, and David Howard. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 31, 2017 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel with interment at Kolb Cemetery.
