John Manos Lambakis

He attended Joliet Township High School and then later graduated from Southern Illinois University.

In 1968, Jack, as he was known to everybody, moved to Oklahoma City and eventually got into the laundry and dry cleaning business. Jack was a successful business owner, owning and operating several locations for over 45 years.

Jack also was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was involved in various civic organizations as well.

He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed traveling as well.

During the 1970’s 80’s and 90’s, Jack served on the Parish Council of Saint George Greek Orthodox Church in Oklahoma City and was also a member of the AHEPA Sooner Chapter #240.

Jack is survived by his three sons, Reverend Fr. Michael Lambakis and his wife Renee of Houston, Texas, Patrick Lambakis, and his wife Jesika of Mustang, Oklahoma, and Christopher Lambakis and his wife Duston of Yukon Oklahoma. Jack also had five grandchildren, Andrew and Nicholas Lambakis of Houston, Texas, Carson and Rayley Lambakis of Yukon, and Hannah Lay of Mustang. He also leaves behind his sister Mary Ann Nassos as well as many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 27th at Saint George Greek Orthodox Church from 10:00-11:00 am.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am at Saint George Greek Orthodox Church, 2101 NW 145th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73134.

A luncheon will be hosted by the family following the funeral service at Saint George.

A private family burial will take place in Joliet, Illinois at a later date.

The family is honored to have the following friends serve as pallbearers

Justin Stamatis, Peter Gianos, Rickey Brady, Jason Skaggs, Matt Porter and Ben Rutz.

Honorary pallbearers are as follows: Lewis Pontikos, Andy Dantes, John Limber, and Jim Limber.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Saint George Greek Orthodox Church in memory of Jack Lambakis.
