Jonathan William King

Jonathan grew up with his 2 brothers in Midwest City, Oklahoma, where the family attended Hillcrest Baptist Church. He graduated from Star Spencer High in 1967. After graduation he studied at OU and Central State University.

Some of his earlier employment include the Coca Cola Company, TG&Y, and Montgomery Ward, where he used his artistic skills to dress windows.

He later worked for Southwestern Bell as a payroll change clerk and long-distance operator. He retired from AT&T as a 411 operator.

Jonathan was a big kid at heart. He enjoyed the classic old movies and music. He was quite a photographer, taking most of the family photos. He also enjoyed working the crossword puzzles from the Sunday paper when he would visit his parents.

He retired early to take care of his parents and was ultimately his mother's caregiver.

He was especially fond of his nephews, Tommy and Danny who were like the kids he never had. They had a lot of fun growing up with their favorite uncle.

Jonathan was very kind and was hardly ever in a squabble with anyone. He will be so missed by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Michael. He is survived by his brother, David King and wife Sylvie. Also, his nephews, Tommy and Danny King and spouses Lisa and Rickey. He is survived by his niece Daphne Young and nephews, Eric and Adam King. He is also survived by cousins Gary Miller, Joyce Castor, and Donna Gaye Harmon and their families.

He also has several great nieces and nephews, including Ashley, Katie, Austin, and Dustin King, and Cheyanne Linn.

The family is so thankful for his housemate, Raymond Goodwin for his patience and just being there for his comfort and needs.

A visitation for Jonathan will be held Monday, September 9, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A funeral service will occur Monday, September 9, 2024 at 2:00 PM, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A burial will occur Monday, September 9, 2024 at Arlington Memory Gardens, 3400 N Midwest Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73141.
