Jody was born on January 27, 1956, in Marlow Oklahoma to James and Patsy Dixon. He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at a young age. The Lord knew it was time to lay his body to rest on January 7, 2024.
He grew up in Marlow with his three brothers Jimmy, John Bob, and David, and graduated from Marlow High School. Jody married Cathy June Caddell and they had three children Tyler, Houston, and Jordan. After he graduated Jody worked at Westran and Haliburton. Later in life he decided to chase his dreams and opened up Amazon Aquatics, a retail store where he sold exotic live coral and saltwater fish.
He had three grandkids Kylee, Baylee, and Nathon and they loved helping him around the store and afterward, he would take them out to eat Chinese food.
Jody loved the outdoors wildlife, hiking, canoeing, and tent camping. Taking family vacations to the Buffalo River was one of his favorite things to do. Like most of the Dixon's, he was A born and bred Oklahoma Sooners fan. He loved watching and going to the games with friends and family. A few months before Jody passed he was in the hospital recovering from surgery and the first thing he asked when he woke up was "Son did we get that Tatum kid" I said yes Dad we got the #1 running back in the country. He just smiled and went back to sleep. Jody also had a soft spot in his heart for his furry friends. Jigger, Rocky, Sully, Marco, and Rowdy girl.
Jody was preceded in death by his parents Patsy and James, his brother Jimmy, and his son Jordan.
He was survived by his sons Tyler and Houston, his grandkids, Kylee, Baylee, and Nathon, and his brothers John Bob, And David.
