

At age 2, Joseph was ill with Polio, he was sent home by the doctors, that said he would never recover. A holy lady in the community prayed to the Virgin Mary and she was given a cure of hot cloths and olive oil. He recovered, but had some lingering walking effects.
The summer of 1979, Joseph came to the United States to study where he lived with his Aunt Maria and Uncle Nikos Papasarantou.
He attended Oklahoma City University, where he met his future wife, Sandra. He graduated in the spring of 1973 with B.S. in Mathematics and Physics.
Joseph continued his education at The University of Oklahoma, graduating with a master’s degree in electrical engineering on December 22,1976.
Joseph became a United States Citizen on October 19,1978.
Joseph worked at various manufacturing facilities in the Oklahoma City area, where his final position was an Electrical Engineer at Delta Faucet in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Joseph started his own company: Automation Control Solutions, LLC, with his wife Sandra in December of 2007. The business was comprised of buying and selling industrial control equipment to manufacturers, both in the United States and throughout the world.
He continued operating his business until his death.
Joseph enjoyed playing racquetball, swimming and water aerobics. He was also a long-time member of the Village United Methodist Church.
Joseph married his college sweetheart, Sandra Miller, June 29,1974, whom he is survived by after many loving years together.
Joseph is also survived by his sister, Panagiota Nissiotou of Athens, Greece, her husband, Nikolaos Mouzakopoulos, his Niece Eirini-Constantina Chalkiadaki , her husband Benjamin, their two children: Olympia and Raphael-Mario l of Athens, Greece. Joseph is also survived by cousins; Labros Douskos-Hydras, of Potomac, Virginia, his two children, Petra and Arion, Angela Timberlake, of Oklahoma City, her husband, Jim Timberlake, their children, Avery and James, Chris Papasarantou, Katerina Papasarantou and their children, Niko, Anna Maria and Freddy Papasarantou.
Joseph believed that giving and helping the less fortunate was very important. He contributed a portion of his income from the company every year. The charities he supported are two numerous to list, but he was most proud of the two clean water wells he sponsored giving two villages, clean pure water for the first time, helping sponsor building of low-cost homes and giving flocks of domestic animals to families in impoverished areas, so that they could become self-supporting.
A funeral for Joseph will be held Friday, August 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Village United Methodist Church, 2501 W Britton Rd, Oklahoma City, OK 73120.
