

Joseph Robert Pemberton, 79, of Oklahoma City, OK passed away at his home on the evening of August 22nd 2024 where he lost his battle to stomach cancer. He was born to parents George B. Pemberton and Drucilla Eagleston Pemberton on February 27th 1945 in Milwaukee, WI.
In 1946 Joseph’s family moved back to Oklahoma for his father to join in the expansion of the Pemberton Brokerage Company. Though Joseph spent most of his life in Oklahoma he lived briefly in Portland, Oregon before returning to Oklahoma to continue to work with his father in the family business. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his beloved dog Sissy. He enjoyed fast cars and motorcycles and was an avid rider continuing to ride with his son weekly until his passing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George B. Pemberton and Drucilla E. Pemberton.
He is survived by three siblings: Drucilla Madamba and husband Jorge of Tulsa; Elizabeth (Beth) Freeman and husband Gene of OKC; George B. Pemberton Jr. and wife Lezette of OKC; two children: Joseph R. Pemberton Jr. of OKC; Shelly Fletcher and husband Michael of OKC; three grandchildren: Amanda Roberts and Paul of OKC; Hannah Roberts of Stillwater; Samantha Fletcher of Perkins; six great-grandchildren: Elijah Roberts, Gabriella Gonzalez, Kade Orozco, Adelynn Orozco, Kannen Orozco and Lilee Ronspiez. Other survivors include a niece and two nephews: Karla Madamba, Ryan Madamba (wife Leah) and Todd Freeman (wife Jennifer). Special friend and mother to his children, Kathy Pemberton Reinke and her husband Fred Reinke.
Joseph was a voice of calm and reasoning and a reminder of patience, resilience and faith daily even in the face of his own struggles. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him and were blessed to know him in life. May he now walk beside his parents amongst the angels.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Rose Hill Burial Park, 6001 N.W. Grand Blvd., OKC, OK. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
