Joyce Adrienne (Jones) Robinson passed away peacefully in her sleep, at the age of 91, during the early morning hours of February 26, 2022, at Oak Hills Care Center in Jones, OK. She was born on November 22, 1930, to Claudius Hart Jones and Eva (Hoke) Jones in Price Hill, WV.
After graduating from Mount Hope High School, in Mount Hope, WV, Joyce enlisted in the Air Force. She enjoyed her Air Force career and talked fondly about her adventures. She met her husband, David, at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma, where they married and started their family. After Joyce received her honorable discharge from the Air Force, she was a supportive Air Force wife as David continued his Air Force career. They traveled in many countries and other U.S. states during military service. Although they continued traveling throughout the United States after retirement, they always returned to Oklahoma to live.
Joyce passed on to her children the love of reading and the love of Jesus. She was a devoted Christian and attended church regularly in Midwest City. She enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, and sewing, in addition to her daily Bible reading and fellowship in the church activities. One of the favorite needlepoint creations includes the phrase: “Richer than me you will never be, I had a mother who read to me.”
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, David A. Robinson; two sons, Ronald D. Robinson and Mark A. Robinson; five brothers, Charles Jones, Lyle A. Jones, Claudius H. Jones Jr, Carlos Jones, and Bernard K. Jones; and one sister, Margaret K. (Jones) Wood.
