

Juan R. Martinez, 78 year-old former resident of Midwest City, Oklahoma, passed away March 20, 2015 in Moore, Oklahoma. Born April 26, 1936 in Dulce, New Mexico, he was the son of Juan R. Martinez and Reynalda (Romera) Martinez. Juan was a retired Master Sgt. in the U. S. Air Force where he served as a jet engine mechanic. He had worked on Air Force One and had gotten to know the Kennedy family well during the time John Kennedy was President in the early 60’s. Juan loved to tell Jokes and in general he enjoyed living life to the fullest. He was an expert mechanic; loved fishing and hunting; bowling; and Volleyball. He was a very gentle and loving man. Preceding him in death were his parents; 2 sisters, Mary Alice Sanchez and Flora Guiterrez; and 1 brother, Robert Martinez. Survivors include his wife Marie Martinez of Newcastle, Oklahoma; 1 son, Joseph (Sabina) Martinez of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; 3 daughters, Rosemary Macon of Moore, Oklahoma; Theresa Martinez of Moore, Oklahoma; and Candice (John) Armstrong of Del City, Oklahoma; 9 Granddaughters; 9 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Manuel Martinez of Chama, New Mexico; Tino Quintana of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Felix Quintana of Peoria, Arizona; and Raymond Martinez of California; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd St., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with full Military Honors by the U. S. Air Force Honors Detail from Tinker A.F.B.
