Judith Ann Allen

Judith Ann Allen, 73, of Mustang, OK, went to be with Jesus on June 6, 2018. She was born May 8, 1945, to Rozelle and Margaret Sims in Hamtramck, Michigan. She was one of 4 children. She graduated from Hazel Park High School in June 1963.

One of Judy’s friends in Michigan asked her to accompany her to Oklahoma and they arrived in Bethany on December 31st, attending a New Year’s eve “watch night” service. Judy applied to Bethany Nazarene College (now SNU) and was accepted. While at BNC, Judy attended Calvary Church of the Nazarene, where another college student, Charles Allen, also attended. Although he was very shy and quiet, they started dating and were married on June 8, 1968, at Hazel Park Church of the Nazarene in Michigan. She was a faithful member of Calvary, working as a children’s Sunday school teacher and singing in the choir.

Judy had a variety of occupations, working at cleaners, nursing homes, hospitals, school cafeterias, McDonald’s and most recently as a custodian at SNU. In every job, she always strived to be better than herself and succeeded in everything she did. In May 1995, she became the first one of her family to graduate from college, earning a degree in Management of Human Resources from SNU.

Judy always had a sense of humor and enjoyed playing pranks on people. She liked calling people “George” and introducing herself as “George.” In her recent days, all who took part in caring for her said Judy was their favorite resident because she was always sweet and kind to them and had a smile to share.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Allen, her parents and sisters Maxine Shannon and

Doreen Rice. She is survived by her daughter Starla and Donald Ballew of Yukon, OK, Twyla and Raymond Hart of Moore, OK; grandchildren Timothy Ballew of Yukon, Caleb, Shelby and Chelsea Hart of Moore; brother Darryl and Jeanette Sims of Rochester Hills, Michigan.

Judy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother (mema), faithfully serving and trusting in the Lord.

Services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
