Judith Arline (Croom) Whetstone was surrounded by family and friends as she passed peacefully from this life into the waiting arms of Jesus and her parents on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 after a long illness. She was born on April 12, 1942 in Oklahoma City, graduated from Northwest Classen HS in 1960, and attended OK State University.
Judy was an artist, a pianist and sang beautifully! An executive secretary by profession, she worked at Kerr-McGee for 26 years, received her business degree in 1986 from UCO, and worked at OETA & the OK Dept of Commerce until she retired in 2002. She married Bill on Feb. 14, 1998 and they had many good times and fun adventures together, such as gardening, travel, photography, NWC alumni activities and being with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mack Jr & Dorothy Croom of OKC. She is survived by her husband Bill of the home, daughter Laura Smith & grandson Adam Smith of OKC, granddaughter Jennifer (Chad) Lee, & great granddaughter Anna Grace of Louisville, KY, aunt and uncle Roland & AnnaBeth Croom of OKC, her cat Swanee, and many special cousins, friends & caregivers. Thank you so much for all you’ve done for Judy and for us.
Judy attended and served at New Covenant Christian Church (12000 N. Rockwell Ave, OKC), and funeral services will be held there Thurs, Jan. 17, 2013 at 1:00 pm, with interment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be at Hahn-Cook Street & Draper on Wed. Jan. 16 from 8 am to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the OK Parkinson Foundation, Free to Live, NWC Alumni Association, or charity of choice. Judy was a precious lady who enjoyed people, places and things; she loved life and lived it to the fullest, and she will be greatly missed!
