Judy Elaine (Evans) Beck was born on October 31, 1945 in Yakima, WA to Benjamin & Crystal (Strutton) Evans. She attended school in Cordell, OK and graduated in 1964 having achieved the honor of Valedictorian. She worked at Tinker Air Force Base for over 28 years, retiring in 1995. She was a loyal and dedicated employee, receiving the Outstanding Federal Employee of the Year in 1987.
She married Bobbie Beck in 1970, and together they traveled all over the United States in their customized Fleetwood motorhome often taking the road less traveled and bringing pictures to family members to "ooh & aah." Judy was an avid cook and would prepare big, delicious meals for family, co-workers, and friends. At Christmas, she and Bob prepared a Christmas Party to rival Santa! Divinity, Aunt Bills, caramel popcorn and other delectable sweets were made and delivered to each family member.
She contracted polio at age 5 and struggled with it until her death. She was a poster child for Behany Childrens Home and her story was shared on TV and writings all over the world which were instrumental in encouraging the polio vaccine to children.
She was preceded in death by her father and her mother; stepmother, Yvonne Evans and stepfather, Bill Johnson; her brothers, Bobby and Billy also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sister, Sandra Cooper; brother, Bruce Evans; husband, Bobbie R. Beck of Midwest City, OK; brothers and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
“A loving, patient and generous human being, she was loved by everyone she met. To say she loved cats is an understatement-she adored cats! All cats! They were her babies!”
The family of Judy Beck would like to give a special thanks to Good Shepherd Hospice for the care they provided.
