

On Sunday, November 16, 2014, Judy George quietly and peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Judy taught the 4 and 5 year old Sunday school at Olivet Baptist Church for over 40 years. She also taught many children in church training, VBS, and Big A. Judy also served on many committees at Olivet as well as volunteering at the Church Clinic through Integris.
Judy was born on February 23, 1938 to Newton and Reba McGill in Enid, Oklahoma. Judy graduated from Enid High School in 1957. She then went to work for Champlin Oil. Later Judy moved to OKC and worked for Mercy Hospital downtown. In 1965 Judy went to work for the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission where she retired from after 27 years. Judy met Glenn George after moving to OKC and they were married in June of 1970. They made their home and raised their family in Yukon, OK.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Glenn, of the home, daughters, Sami Hobia of Yukon, Ginger Magill and 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, and sister, Joann Oberlender of Yukon. The family would like to thank Mercy Hospital Hospice, Dr. Suzanne Cole, and Dr. Astrid Morrison. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judy’s name to Olivet Baptist Church, 1201 NW 10th Street, OKC, OK 73106. Visitation will be Thursday, November 20, from 8am-8pm at Guardian Funeral Homes West Chapel, Warr Acres, with family present from 6pm-8pm. Funeral services will be 1pm Friday, November 21, at Olivet Baptist Church, OKC, with interment to follow in the Yukon Cemetery.
