Kaethe Eva Ayres

April 1, 1932 in Eisleben, Germany to Marie and Paul Eichfeld. Eisleben was the home of

Martin Luther, and Kaethe was baptized there in Luther’s Chapel and remained a devout

Lutheran. Kaethe grew up in Germany during World War II and experienced difficult conditions that impacted her for life. In her memoir, she wrote, “I became the person I am because of all these events.” On March 9, 1956, she married Franklin Ayres who was stationed at Ramstein Air Base in Germany. On June 9, 1961, Kaethe became a naturalized U.S. citizen and raised her three children in Pacific, MO and Norman, OK. She was preceded in death by her sister Eva and brother Manfred of Germany, and her son Frank Ayres, Jr. Kaethe is survived by daughters Christina Ayres, Karen Becker and her husband Jeff, daughter-in-law Shelly Ayres, and loving grandson Brock Franklin Ayres. Services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14th at Hahn-Cook at 6600 Broadway Extension with interment at Rose Hill. Donations in memory of Kaethe may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
