She is survived by her niece, Kristin Ketch of Oklahoma City and her nephew, Robbie Ketch and his wife Celise Baker Ketch and their son, Brody Ketch of Austin, Texas.
Karla graduated from John Marshal High School in 1958. She attended Stephens College, graduating from The University of Oklahoma in 1962. She was a member of Alpha Phi where she served as President.
Upon college graduation, Karla moved to Denver and her first job was at an advertising firm. Several years later, she moved to Lancaster, PA where she worked for Shick. She then moved to Manhattan, Kansas and had a program at Kansas State University called “Konversations with Karla”, a radio program. She later returned to Oklahoma City to work with her brother in real estate. Eventually Karla moved into residential real estate where she worked until her retirement as an escrow agent with Lawyers Title/American Eagle. She was a member of Crossings Community Church.
Karla loved fishing and boating and spent many summers and weekends at the family lake house. She loved being around her niece and nephew as they grew up introducing them to theatre performances at an early age—a passion which has remained with them both through adulthood. In her later years, the love of her life revolved around her grandnephew, Brody. She enjoyed going to Austin to spend time with the Baker kids as well: Jackson, Phoenix and Brennan.
Services will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 26, 2018.
