

Kay was born on August 25, 1948, to Howard Eldon and Jean Marie Hutchinson in Henderson Texas. A graduate of Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English, she had a multifaceted career as a technical writer, licensed mediator, and humor columnist for the Stillwater News Press.
She was a beloved member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Stillwater, Oklahoma. As a humor writer and story teller, her biggest pleasure was to make people laugh. She touched the lives of those who knew her with her humor and perseverance.
Kay was predeceased by her daughter Lyra Wynn Marie Thompson in 2011. She is survived by her extraordinarily talented children, son Michael Douglas Rojas and daughter Josi Allison Grochma. She is also mourned by her sister’s family Beverly Jean and Joe Aranki, her family members Jack Grochmal and Jeff and Lynn Thompson, and her grandson Aiden Morse.
